Today I went snowboarding and it felt great to breathe in "clean" air into my lungs at Big Bear.
As I was boarding down the mountain, I stopped and simply admired the scenery painted in front of my eyes. My friends and I just sat dazed at how this world was created. Then we had our share of falling, laughing, and aching. It's OK, because in the end my friend's dad treated us out to Korean BBQ (yummers)!
During my fall semester, I had a guest speaker from the Oprah show come into my seminar and talk about the environment.
What struck me the most about her speech was her passion to connect the audience with the environment.
As she stood in command, she said, Now, close your eyes... think of an area of escape, an area where serenity fills the mind, body, and soul.
-More than 90% of the students in my seminar raised their hands when my guest speaker asked if it was somewhere in nature.
I cannot stress this enough, but our Earth needs us. Peace.
I miss the cliffs and WILL return to it's location when I visit SD.
